摘要: This seminar will discuss how to perform high-quality research and how to publish papers in scholarly journals. Publishing in top international journals is important to many researchers in educational and research institutions. The presentation will discuss on various topics, such as how to select and define a research topic, how to prepare a manuscript, how to revise and respond to reviewers etc.

简历： Kay Chen Tan，香港城市大学教授、教育部长江学者讲座教授、IEEE Fellow。现任IEEE Transactions on Evolutionary Computation 主编，也 是其它10 多个顶级国际期刊的编辑。发表论文300 余篇，出版专著 10 本，应邀在60 多个国际会议上做大会报告，曾获IEEE Transactions on Neural Network and Learning Systems 及 IEEE Computational Intelligence Magazine最佳论文奖、International Network for Engineering Education & Research 的‘Recognition Award’ 奖等。主要研究方向包括人工智能及计算智能、机器学习及优化、数据挖掘及运筹学等。
