报告摘要:Mobile edge caching (MEC) has attracted increasing research attention as it can both alleviate traffic load on the backhaul and reduce content delivery latency for user terminals. The performance of MEC depends on how the cached contents are selected and, in the case of dynamic caching, how the cached contents are updated. This talk consists of three parts on the topics of cache placement and replacement. First, from an application perspective, the problem of cooperative caching for minimizing average content delivery latency is introduced. Second, dynamic caching and cache replacement strategy are investigated in the scenario when the instantaneous content popularity may vary with time but the average popularity over a period of time is known. Third, a new framework for characterizing and analyzing cache replacement schemes, i.e., the state transition field, is introduced. Together, the three parts cover the study of mobile edge caching from application to theory.
