Abstract:
Network and communication technologies provide a large number of opportunities for people to create, transmit, and store images and videos with vast quantities of private information. Increasing demand of privacy protection becomes an important issue for individual, business and government. Multimedia encryption is an effective method to protect multimedia data by transforming it into an unrecognizable format such that the protected objects are difficult to decode by an unauthorized user.
Traditional encryption methods may either require significant computational costs or provide a lower level of security due to a lack of security keys or small key space. To overcome these problems, this talk presents several new technologies for multimedia encryption. It begins with a brief introduction to multimedia encryption, and follows four different technologies, including (n, k, p)-Gray codes and, discrete parametric cosine transform, edge maps and steganography, for multimedia encryption.
