Abstract:
Many real world problems are of network nature, such as Smart Grids and biological systems. One particular challenge is how to deal with sheer size and complexity of the large-scale networked systems to deliver time-critical solutions. Complex Networks provide an enabling technology for dealing with such systems from unconventional network characteristics such as transitivity, degree distribution and correlation, network structure and resilience, and network navigation. Complex networks have been studied extensively though switching and its role in complex network systems have been less studied. There is a need for better understanding of complex networks with switching which will help significant industrial applications.
In this talk, we will first give a brief overview of recent developments in Complex Networks with switching. We will then look at how to tailor the switching control theories to study Complex Networks with switching, as well as the challenges ahead for this research.
